Description
This Breyer horse statue is from the Traditional collection. Her coloring is really unique; I believe this particular one is called a line-backed dun and is the most popular coat color for this breed. She is a representation of the Criollo Pony, a descendant of the Andalusian horses that were brought to South America in the 1500's by the Spanish. Some of these were released into the wild where they bred and, over time, adapted to the harsh climate. This made them hardy little ponies.
I used the website IdentifyYourBreyer.com to identify the model for this horse, which is #743. The manufacturing years were 1998-99.
