12x18 inch semi-matte photo/poster print on glossy Fuji Crystal Archive pro photo paper developed in chemistry of a surfer at the Banzai Pipeline, (Ehukai Beach) on a 15 foot wave, 1980's, Haleiwa, north Oahu, by longtime Hawaii professional surfing photographer Bill Romerhaus.
It was shot on 35mm Velvia transparency film so it looks  grainy close up, please be aware of this. When viewed a few feet away it looks really nice though.
It is unmounted and has photography and preservation tips included on a separate label. It is initialed ('BR') in the lower corner.

.  Pipeline is one the more famous surf breaks in the world, and many professional contests are held there each year. Its waves are some of the most powerful on earth, generated by far distant North Pacific Ocean storms during the winter months (Sept-March). They are an incredible example of the ocean's mightiness. Native Hawaiians, surfers, and a lot of oriental people consider these magnificent waves to be a supreme example of power and manifested with the spirit of mother nature. To actually see these waves breaking along the shoreline is an awesome, humbling, and unforgettable experience. For best visual presentation it would look best in a 16x20 or 16x24 inch or larger frame.

This print was photographed by professional surfing, stock photographer, and master black and white printer Bill Romerhaus, of North Shore Photography, who has been shooting surfing and scenics since 1967. It is initialed and dated on the front of the photo. It has preservation tips included in the label included.
His most recent work has appeared in the new  CBS/Eye productions "Hawaii 50", Disney/Dreamworks productions "Fright Night", ABC Television pilot "My Generation", Sony Pictures "Soul Surfer", CBS/Paramount Network TV series "The Cleaner" on A&E Networks, Universal Pictures "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", and Warner Brothers  "The Big Bounce", filmed on the North Shore or on Oahu, providing vintage photos of nostalgia, and surfing for background artwork.  Bill has lived in Hawaii for over 50 years. In 1965 he shot his first surfing photo and was a contributing photographer to 'Surfer', and 'Surfing' magazines, and over 30 international surfing magazines and manufacturers, as a photojournalist for over 100 publications, advertising/stock photo agencies, and corporate clients worldwide.
In 1983 Bill started NORTH SHORE PHOTOGRAPHY, specializing in black & white darkroom services, after attaining the status as a master black & white printer and film processor for professional clients island wide. His photos have credited him with over 200 cover shots and full page advertisements. His work has appeared in Popular Photography, Shutterbug, American Photographer, Shape, Men's Fitness, Surfing, Surfer, Honolulu, Aloha, Hawaii newspapers, Outdoor, Outside, Conde Nast Traveler, National Enquirer, CNN, Discovery & History Channels, & many others. Professional clients have included American Express, Vogue International, Analog Clothing, Hilton Hotels, Hawaiian Tropic, Hawaiian Airlines, etc. Bill now specializes in printing historic and nostalgic images of Hawaii (NOSTALGIC PHOTOS HAWAII) from the thousands of photos he has produced and collected as a professional photographer in the past five decades living in Hawaii and selling his twice award winning photo history book "Haleiwa: A Pictorial History" available at our e-Bay store.
